Watercolor & Collage | Inspired by themes of alternative dimensions, time travel, and wormholes found in The Tempus Peregrinari: A Time Travel Exhibition currently on view from May 6-June 23, 2023 at the Bath House. Students will express these concepts of time traveling through the use of watercolor and collage.
Class Schedule
1:00-1:15 Create watercolor color washes
1:15-1:45 View the Gallery/ Discussion
1:45- 2:30 Painting Session: As a class, students will go through watercolor painting techniques and materials. Then we will cut, collage, and glue to complete our very own collage paintings.

Teacher Bio | Kenya Diaz was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. She is passionate about sharing her love for art and teaches at Oil and Cotton Art Studio. She currently teaches Studio Kids and Teen Portfolio Prep Programs. Diaz is a Booker T. Washington High School Performing and Visual Arts graduate and has an Associate’s Degree from Brookhaven Community College where she studies Painting and Metals.
Artist Statement | Kenya Diaz’s collaged images, paintings, and small sculptures are inspired by family stories and her upbringing as a first-generation, Mexican-American. Diaz references everyday objects and symbols to explore ideas of identity, resourcefulness, family, and community.
