About Twice Upon a Time Storytellers: Gene and Peggy Helmick-Richardson
Sharing the stage as Twice Upon a Time Storytellers, Gene and Peggy Helmick-Richardson share folktales, fairy tales, fables, personal stories, and historical re-enactments for all ages. Many of their stories are told in tandem.
With a combined 70 years of storytelling experience, Gene and Peggy are both recipients of the John Henry Faulk Award, the most prestigious storytelling award given in the state of Texas.
Twice Upon a Time Storytellers were selected to perform in the 2005 National Storytelling Regional Concert in Oklahoma City and served as featured storytellers for both the 2010 Texas Storytelling Conference and the 2019 Texas Storytelling Festival.
