ABOUT OUTLOUD DALLAS: OutLoud brings together teenagers from 29 different zip codes across the Dallas area, using the power of art to bridge divides, enhance social emotional learning, and provide platforms for youth to share their voices with the community. Their mission is to amplify youth voice and value young people as capable change makers, artists, and storytellers. OutLoud was founded in January, 2019 by Allison Caldwell and Jeffery Moffitt. Their extensive backgrounds in art therapy, education, theater, and multidisciplinary storytelling led them to create OutLoud in response to the need for more accessible platforms for youth to share their voices about issues that they care about. Jeffery and Allison have over 25 years of combined experience in the youth development space and have led large scale youth initiatives across the city. Since OutLoud’s beginnings in early 2019, OutLoud has provided programming services and partnered with a number of local community organizations, including: The Latino Cultural Center, UNT Dallas, Uplift Education, After8toEducate, Big Thought, CitySquare, AURORA, Gossypion Investments, Ash Studios, Fair Park, Life in Deep Ellum, and SPARK. Through their storytelling programming, OutLoud youth have worked together to create eleven public installations that were viewed by nearly 8,000 community members.
