Join us under the beautiful trees and look out towards the lake during our Sunsets and Serenades acoustic concert series. Curated by DFW Indie/Alt Folk Singer-Songwriter, Amari Amore, this unplugged music series will activate the public art piece titled, A Place to Perform by Linnea Glatt.
This Fall 2023, we are activating A Place to Perform for an outdoor, acoustic concert series with performances by Amari Amore, Maya Piata, and Xyzsa Love. This FREE concert series begins at 6:30 pm. We have some seating available, but please feel free to bring your chairs and blankets!
Amari is a 23 year old Indie Alt/Folk Singer-Songwriter from the DFW, Texas area. She attended Booker T. Washington High School For the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas where she studied classical guitar. Booker T. has produced great talents such as: Norah Jones, Erykah Badu, Roy Hargrove and many others! She is a recent graduate from the University of North Texas where she studied music. She has been recognized for many achievements such as a: YoungArts Merit Winner, Pickup Music Emerging Artist Finalist, Fender Feature, NPR North Texas’ Top 20 under 20 Artists and many more! She released her debut EP titled ‘Complications’ in 2018 and recently released her debut album ‘Evolution’. Her sound has been described as: ethereal, lush, and sometimes haunting blending a mix of folk/soul elements in her voice and music.
Singer/songwriter & community influencer, Maya Piata uses her eclectic background to mold her own, unique style by pulling inspiration from her hometown, New Orleans, alongside the culture of her rich New Zealand roots. Piata gains recognition as a rising star and force emerging from the Dallas scene. She describes her sound as “Sunshine Soul”, mirroring her bubbly personality and endless list of musical influences.
20 year old Singer-songwriter, as well as producer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist, Xyzsa Love is a Filipina-American Artist on the rise with a heart to use her music to heal and create positive change in the world.
The Booker T. Washington HSPVA alumni has had many opportunities like co-writing with Broadway, touring with well-known rap artist Rod Wave, to sharing her story and music with the nations leaders in education alongside the F.L.O.T.U.S. (First Lady of the United States)
In 2023, she is now stepping foot into her solo career in hopes to leave a positive impact on whoever is listening, as an artist and human.
A PLACE TO PERFORM | By Linnea Glatt. Ms. Glatt’s artwork consists of a platform or stage-like area with a seating arrangement. Ms. Glatt states that the artwork is primarily utilized to provide a sense of place and to function as a vehicle of experiencing such a space—whether it be a solitary or group experience. The artist also indicates that the sculpture is designed for actual use by the public for spontaneous or scheduled performances of various kinds. City of Dallas Public Art Collection.
