The Fiber and Material Studies Series invites participants to experiment with the medium of fibers during several workshops and events at the Bath House Cultural Center. Activities in this series are led by Dallas-Fort Worth artists and will focus on techniques and materials consisting of natural or synthetic fiber. Fiber media includes fabric, yarn, reed, thread, and a wide range of materials and media. All events are free, space is limited, and registration is required.

Sarita Westrup is a fibers artist and educator living and working in Dallas, TX. Her sculptural basketry works are inspired by where she was born and raised, the Rio Grande Valley on the Texas – Mexico border. Sarita works to promote and share her love of textiles and basketry through education. www.saritawestrup.art

VET is a native Texas artist who incorporates environmental recycling awareness through her artwork, commissions, and workshops. Her murals and art installations combine the aesthetics of fine art with an inventive application of found and re-purposed objects. In addition to her wide variety of cultural-based and educational arts programs, she always shares innovative ways to re-think, re-purpose and re-design discarded items. VET has been touring nationally and regionally for over 25 years where she offers hands-on classes, workshops and other customized programming. She is a graduate of the University of
Texas Dallas (BA Arts & Performance). VET’s work has been on exhibit throughout the U.S., Mexico, Canada and Africa; and the recipient of numerous grants that include The National Endowment of the Arts (NEA), Texas Commission on the Arts (TCA), State Fair of Texas Creative Arts Department, Dallas Cultural Vitality Program, ArtsActivate, Dallas Community Fund Project, Dallas Community Artist, TACA CultureBank, MetLife Foundation, and Urban Genesis. www.artcycleclubtx.com


CRAFT CIRCLE with Pegasus Creative Reuse

Join us at the Bath House Cultural Center for CRAFT CIRCLE on the Last Wednesday of the Month! Participants bring their current craft project (crochet, knitting, embroidery, smaller craft projects, etc!) and have focused time and space to work on their project with the community. CRAFT CIRCLE is led by Dorothy Villarreal and Ernesto Diaz, Jr. of Pegasus Creative Reuse

Artists are invited to come craft, network, and build community. This is a free event, no registration is required.
