Based on the Latin American artists Joaquín Torres-García, Carmen Herrera, and architect Francis Ching; participants will use color, black, and white paper to create compositions based on principles of abstract art and express emotions. Through guided exercises, participants will learn to abstract their emotions and create unique compositions reflecting their feelings. This hands-on workshop is designed to be both educational and therapeutic, providing a creative outlet for emotional expression and artistic development. This class is designed for all ages and beginners – no experience required.
Sonia Medina is a Honduran artist, designer, and educator passionate about creating innovative and meaningful spaces. With a background in architecture and a deep commitment to community-driven projects, Sonia combines cultural heritage with contemporary design practices. Through her work as a professor in Honduras and as a co-founder of Redlemon, a design studio, she strives to uplift others by fostering creativity, accessibility, and impactful storytelling in art and design.
