Free Fall: Hard Blues and Harmolodics Firm Rooted Jazz Series at the Bath House Cultural Center. With firm roots planted within the traditions of so called straight ahead, free, bebop, avant garde, swing, and experimental jazz, each showcase will feature various local musicians, each who feverishly pursue an endless sonic quest within the many realms of jazz music.
From high level composition to absolute abstraction, juxtaposing swinging melodies with cacophonous washes of sound, Free Fall: Hard Blues and Harmolodics series aims to challenge the listener and observer to see no radical difference from one performance to the next, but to respect and appreciate each as a necessary component in the varied and inherently exploratory nature of jazz music. Please bring your chairs and blankets! Join us at the Place to Perform sculpture, our outdoor performance space. You can sit up close or picnic on the lawn and enjoy the incredible sunsets and city skyline at White Rock Lake. Please note that the last performance will be held indoors in the Black Box Theater with seating provided.
