Inspiring Photographers for 90 Years (1934-2024)
The Bath House Cultural Center is proud to present Dallas Camera Club 90th Anniversary Photograph Exhibition: Inspiring Photographers for 90 Years (1934–2024). This show celebrates the important milestone for this esteemed organization, highlighting the club’s longstanding contributions to the local arts community and its enduring dedication to the art of photography.
Forty-seven artists are featured in this exhibition, showcasing works inspired by various subjects, including wildlife, architecture, portraiture, abstraction, and other themes. Their artistry exemplifies the creative excellence that has been at the heart of the Dallas Camera Club (DCC) since its founding in 1934. Originally working with film in the darkroom, the club transitioned to digital photography in the 1990s, now focusing on color prints, monochrome prints, and digital projected images. Committed to photography as an art form, the DCC provides education and engagement through monthly competitions, field trips, workshops, and an annual Awards Banquet. Open to all photography enthusiasts, the club emphasizes learning through competition and judge feedback while fostering a welcoming environment for beginners.
Many members have gained local, national, and international recognition, and the DCC remains an active member of the Photographic Society of America and the Gulf States Camera Club Council.
